Inflatable Travel Pillows Compared
Inflatable pillows trade the fixed shape of foam for a much smaller packed size and adjustable firmness. The current options differ more than you might expect — in shape, valve design and how they attach — so this guide compares what each manufacturer actually publishes.

What sets inflatables apart
An inflatable pillow deflates to a fraction of its in-use size, which is why most come with a small pouch. Firmness depends on how much air you add, so the valve matters: a push-button release lets you let out a little air without starting again.
The compromise is the surface. Most inflatables have a thin fabric cover over a plastic bladder, and the ones we list are wipe clean only rather than washable.
Four different shapes
Flat-back neck pillows (Go Travel Compact Snoozer and Classic Travel Snoozer): the familiar U shape with a flat rear so it doesn't push the head forward, which Go Travel describes as suited to upright sleeping. The Compact Snoozer adds a push-button valve and non-slip rear grip at 70g; the Classic is simpler at 58g and a lower price.
Inflatable wraparound (Go Travel Compact Siesta): a structured shape with an elasticated front closure, which Go Travel says prevents head roll. At 71g it is one of the lightest wraparound designs we have found.
Seat-tethered pillow (Travelrest Ultimate): a long curved pillow that straps to the seat wings or headrest, or is worn across the body. Travelrest lists a rolled-up size of about 3 × 10 inches.
Standard neck pillow (Samsonite TA Revolution Easy Inflatable): a velvet-touch U shape with a pocket-size pouch, sold by Samsonite UK. Samsonite does not publish its weight or size.

What to compare
Published weight and size: Go Travel publishes both for all three of its models; others publish only some.
Valve: a push-button release (Go Travel Compact models) makes fine adjustment easier. Samsonite says its pillow inflates within two breaths; Travelrest says three to four puffs — both are manufacturer claims.
Attachment: a closure, rear grip or seat tether can stop the pillow slipping; a plain U shape relies on the seat.
UK availability: the Go Travel and Samsonite models are sold directly in the UK in pounds; Travelrest sells in US dollars.
Who an inflatable may suit
Inflatables may suit hand-luggage travellers and anyone who wants to adjust firmness. Travellers who prefer a washable, fixed shape may prefer a memory foam pillow instead.
